Bottlefeeding/Breastfeeding
Hello I am new to this forum and here is my take.
I am a bottlefeeding mom of 3 children. I was not against breastfeeding at all.
My first child I breast fed for about 3 weeks, My 2nd child 3 months and with my 3rd who is now I month, I decided to go straight for bottle. I found that breastfeeding was TOO stressful for me as an individual and I liked watching the number of oz in front of my face so I had a solid indicator of how much baby was eating. That said I encourage new mothers to try breastfeeding as it is FREE and it is good for the baby and no one knows if they will like it, unless they try it and really give it a good try. I also say if it doesn't work for you, then don't feel so guilty about it. My mom bottle fed me and nursed my sister and brother and she encouraged me to try to breastfeed but has respected my decision to straight bottlefeed the 3rd from the beginning as a less stressed out mom makes all the difference, regardless of how the baby is fed. I co-sleep, and try and get to the baby before he is crying as much as possible and my mom gave me the two tips on bottlefeeding that I have done with all my children-"never prop the bottle because mommies hold bottles, babies hold cups. " She also encouraged me to do lots of skin-skin contact/massage with the babies whether breastfeeding or not.
I both agree with these two options.Breastfeeding is good for a start but it is somehow replaced in bottle feeding for many reasons depending on the situation.

I think three weeks is pretty short for breastfeeding. But if it stresses you too much, then by all means stop it. You're the mom, you know what's best. Just follow your mom's advice though, make sure you you spend lots of time near your children.
