Calling All Candidates!

It's political season and this one is one of the best in recent memory! With the races so tight public interest is at its highest in years. And because of that heightened interest, more and more of us are tuning into the televised debates.

So I'm calling on the candidates to take heed. But I'm also calling on mothers everywhere--those breastfeeding and those not--to pay attention, get your voice heard, and take action. Now is the time. After November the window of opportunity is shut for at least another four years and probably eight. Call or write the television and radio networks. Write your newspapers. Get our issues on out there in the court of public opinion!

There's alot we can accomplish. I've blogged about it before, but Iet me remind you. We want a federal law mandating a safe and clean place in every work environment for new mothers to be able to pump. We want a federal law protecting our right to breastfeed in public. We want increased maternity leaves with guaranteed jobs to come back to. Let's put the candidates on the hot seat and get our issues on their agendas.

We are mothers. We have power, but only if we roar!
