Get over it!
In most states, breastfeeding in public is a right mandated by law. Yet I read story after story about moms who are made to feel bad if they nurse in public or, worse still, asked to move to a bathroom or some other private place----despite the laws!
Those asking them to move or making them feel bad are ignorant of the laws. Or, if they know the laws but are still pressuring moms to move, let's call them cowards. I mean it. It's time to get over this issue. If a mother feeds her child baby food in public, no one says s word. It's the breast that sends people over the edge. Yet no one seems to blink an eye at the proliferation of over-the-top print ads that are everywhere showing women in lingerie that barely covers their nipples. Give me a break!
Our society seems to have a high tolerance for pictures of breasts and more and certainly tv and the movies are full of women baring their breasts. It's just an actual person doing it in public to feed her child that many can't seem to tolerate. But that's ridiculous.
It's time to move on. The law is the law, like it or not. Employers need to educate their employees about the laws. And if your state mandates that it's a woman's right to breastfeed in public, get over it.
