Helping parents nurture healthy babies

An App for Everything--even nursing!

File this one under, "it just goes to show, there's an app for everything!"  Now there are several aimed at helping you make it through those first few months with a new baby all the way through toddler-hood!

How often have you tried to get your baby to smile and hold that smile while you click away?  Well, now there's an app called BabyCam that plays various pre-recorded noises and songs to keep baby smiling while you snap the photo.  And if your baby doesn't smile, chances are, at least he/she will be looking at the camera!

Tired of trying to keep track of when your baby nurses?  Nursing Tracker helps organize you.  A simple tap lets you record when your baby was last nursed, on which side, and for how long.  And after you're done nursing you can use the Diaper Tracker app to record how your baby's doing on that front!

Napping.  I'm not sure who needs it more, the baby or the mother.  Either way, it's important that baby sleep!  So, for naptime, the aSleep app has a choice of lullabies and a timer.  And if you think the music is a distraction, there's a White Noise app!

Are we there yet?  How many times have you heard that while on a long car ride?  I know I heard it about a hundred times more than I wanted.  Well, worry no more.  The Scribble app turns kids into mobile artists.  They use their fingers to draw the next great work of art on the screen.  When they're done with it all they have to do is shake to erase and begin again!

Another good one for long rides that's educational too:  Toddler Cards.  You can flip through virtual flash cards of animals, food, shapes and colors.  They have the words on them and you can even get translations in multiple languages!
