Concord Hospital in New Hampshire is putting it's money where its newborns mouths are!  The hospital is now offering human donor milk for babies whose mothers can't or aren't producing milk themselves.  And it's free!

This week, first lady, Michelle Obama, went public with her Obesity Initative---a plan to combat our nation's childhood obesity epidemic.  And to be sure we have one.

According to the CDC:

32% of kids aged 2-19 are overweight or obese

38% of Hispanic children are overweight or obese

One of my patients came in the other day, breathless with worry about 
returning to work and trying to pump enough milk for her baby.  She's 
going back in March, so has some time.  Her baby is 4 weeks old.  Her 
timing is perfect.

I read about a study published in the Journal of Pediatrics  that suggests breastfed babies make psychologically healthier teens.  To my mind, it's sweeping statements like this one that pose a real danger to mothers and teens everywhere....
